The Panoridim Steel Orchestra, UWI Mona presents the University Singers in concert on 6 June, 2004, at 7: 30 p.m. at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, UWI Mona. Tickets are $500 and proceeds are in aid of sending Panoridim to the World Steel Band Competition in Trinidad in October 2004.
The Panoridim Steel Orchestra is a non-profit student organization that has existed since the mid 1970s, and is located at the UWI Students’ Union. It was created by Trinidadians who felt homesick, especially during the Carnival season. The Band now has approximately 40 members, of which over 90% are Jamaicans.
