The Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication, CARIMAC, UWI, Mona will host its annual Summer Programme from May 31 to August 31, 2004 in Kingston and Montego Bay. Courses are being offered in a wide variety of communication techniques including multimedia, journalism, radio, television, print, public relations, graphic design and desktop publishing. In general, courses are designed for media and communication practitioners. Some courses, however, are pitched at a level to benefit keenly interested and capable persons who have no previous media and communication experience. Class sessions will be held Mondays to Sundays at varying times. Classes will be held both in Kingston: UWI, Mona campus, May 31 – July 31 and Montego Bay, School of Continuing Studies, August 7 – August 31. The Faculty for the Caribbean Institute of Media Communication (CARIMAC) summer programme is drawn from the existing staff of the UWI as well as practising professionals in the media and communication fields working with marketing/advertising/public relations agencies in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
