The (UWI) Mona & Community Co-op. Credit Union Ltd. brings its 50th anniversary celebrations to a grand climax with a series of events during the month of June. They are as follows: 50th Anniversary Exhibition – June 14 – 18 at the UWI, Main Library. The opening ceremony will be Monday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. and the exhibition will be declared open by Professor Kenneth Hall, Pro-Vice Chancellor & Principal, UWI, Mona. There will also be a health fair at the Main Library put on by the Credit Union and the Health Centre between 10: 00 a.m. and 12 noon, Monday June 14. On Sunday June 20, there will be a special Church Service at the Boulevard Baptist Church. Divine worship starts at 9:00 a.m. The 50th Anniversary Exhibition will move to the Calvin McKain Library, UTech between June 21 – 25. The opening ceremony will be Monday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m. and Dr. Rae Davis, President of UTech will declare the exhibition open. The premiere event of the celebrations will be the 50th Anniversary banquet on June 25 at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge, UWI. The guest speaker will be Professor the Hon. Rex Nettleford, Vice Chancellor, UWI. The ‘Sunday Outlook’ in the Gleaner, July 4, will carry a commemorative supplement highlighting this significant milestone in the history of the Credit Union.
