CARIMAC Summer School Programme
Over one hundred and fifty journalists from across the Caribbean will participate in the summer school programme at the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC), UWI, Mona beginning on Monday, June 28. The programme is now in its 22nd year and some twenty courses will be offered in the areas of journalism, including print, radio, television, multi-media, public relations and social marketing. Eight new courses have also been added including, Covering Crime, Publicity Strategies, Online Journalism, Business Reporting and Health Communication for Behaviour Change. Classes will be held Monday to Saturday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Classes are expected to end on Saturday, July 24.
CARIMAC will also be taking its summer school programme to Montego Bay for the first time. The courses will be offered at the UWI’s School of Continuing Studies at Harrison House and will run from August 7 – 31. The courses being offered in Montego Bay will include Public Speaking, Public Relations and Techniques in Writing.
