Scotiabank Jamaica Foundation/Sir Alister McIntyre, Lamour Wills Memorial Scholarships

Three students pursuing the Masters in Business Administration at the Mona School of Business, UWI recently received scholarships from the Scotiabank Jamaica Foundation and from the Mona School of Business. Fiona Thompson and Janice Smith are the recipients of the Scotiabank Jamaica Foundation/Sir Alister McIntyre Scholarships, while Alexis Chin received the Lamour Wills Memorial Scholarship. The Scotiabank/Alister McIntyre awards are funded by the Foundation and are named in honour of the former UWI Vice Chancellor. The awards fulfilled a promise made by the bank’s Managing Director William “Bill” Clarke in 2002 at the opening the Alister McIntyre Building, that the Foundation would donate two scholarships to full-time students at the Mona School of Business. The School has donated the Lamour Wills Memorial Scholarship to honour the late UWI employee who served the UWI for over 25 years, the last three at the School. Lamour Wills passed away in 2003 after a brief illness.
