It happened at last. The running of the cb Group UWI 5K happened on Sunday November 18, 2012. Well it seems like everyone had a great time and today is a marked aches and pains, and also perhaps a sick day for many. My sound advice is keep training as this could be an annual event.
I wish all participants of the “geriatric contingent” a speedy recovery. LOL. The UWI Venture Challenge is going well but seems to have been daunting for some undergraduate teams based on the work load and the skills needed. They have all indicated that they will be back now that they fully understand the inputs required. This I see as a great situation and next year we can certainly expect a “wheel and come again”.
Meanwhile the remaining teams are very active and meeting with their mentors, and we will soon be nearing the completion date and presentations. This speaks to the need to raise the opportunities of endeavors that transcend the normal “find a job” goal, and may well be the catalyst that provides a new and bold way forward for the country. We do need a new path and I hope this will be led by the graduates of MSBM.
That’s all for now as I’m off to buy the liniment for the survivors.
Have a great week.
