The Global Data Barometer (GDB) Caribbean Launch

Thursday, 2 June 2022 - 5:00pm

The Global Data Barometer (GDB) is a critical new benchmark that measures the state of data in 109 countries around the world, in terms of governance, availability, capability and use for the public good. The GDB is a collaborative project conducted through regional hubs and thematic partners. In the Caribbean, Mona School of Business & Management - UWI through the Caribbean Open Institute conducted this initial study for eight Caribbean countries: Bahamas, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti and Dominican Republic, each with independent experienced researchers that undertook a common expert survey across each country.

MSBM will host the Caribbean edition of the GDB Launch on June 2nd, 2022 at 5:00p.m. COT. The launch event will be a multi-country public forum that will seek to:

• Create awareness of the GDB project

• Disseminate the Caribbean findings of the 1st edition of the GDB

• Initiate a conversation around Data for Development (D4D) for the Caribbean, its current status and policy recommendations.
