Director of the Professional Services Unit of the University of the West Indies Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM), Dr William Lawrence, says it is going to take a collective effort from the Government and the private sector to lead digital transformation towards Vision 2030 Jamaica.
“If we can step up our game, we have the opportunity to boost our competitiveness towards Vision 2030, however, it requires all hands-on deck,” he said.
Lawrence added that through the concept of digital transformation, decision makers in the private sector are needed to target investments to avoid overspending on projects that won't drive initiatives for building trust and commitment within organisations. Likewise, Lawrence said the Government should channel more of the benefits of the country's debt reduction into projects that facilitate the digital transformation within the technological era.
The director was speaking at the 10th annual MSBM Roundtable forum, under the theme 'Agile Leadership for Digital Transformation' at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
