MSBM makes contribution to Elsie Bemand Home for Girls

As part of the  commemoration of International Women’s Day in March, in addition to being feted, the women of MSBM decided to make a contribution to a girls’ home to support and encourage the younger generation.

Members of staff were therefore asked to contribute a personal item which would then be consolidated and presented to the home. The Elsie Bemand Home for Girls On in Havendale was chosen as the beneficiary however, as a result of the  COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent closure of most businesses including The University of the West Indies, there was a delay in presenting the gift items to the home.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020, a small team from MSBM visited the home and made the presentation. Due to the ongoing restrictions associated with COVID-19, there was no interaction with the girls, however the Chairman of the Board and the Senior House Mother accepted the gifts and expressed appreciation on behalf of the Home.
