The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus (The UWI Mona) has introduced two innovative courses: Electric Mobility: Fundamentals of EV Technologies (PHYS2800) and Dynamics, Safety, and Economics of EV Technologies (PHYS2801). These courses are part of the "Implementation of Transport and Energy Contributions in the Caribbean" project. This initiative, generously funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) through their International Climate Initiative (IKI) and in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), aims to advance knowledge and practices in electric mobility and energy contributions. The project, spearheaded by the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) runs from July 2023 to July 2026, and is designed to enhance the understanding and application of electric vehicle (EV) technologies within the Caribbean region.
