Coach has high hopes for throwers... all seven of them

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — Jamaica’s throwing coach Julian Robinson believes all seven throwers at the Olympic Games can make it to the final and few could even surprise with medals.

It is the first time in Jamaica’s history that so many throwers qualified for the Olympic Games, with five females and two males looking to break new barriers.

Four discus throwers in Fedrick Dacres, Tara-Sue Barnett, Shadae Lawrence, Kellion Knibb, along with shot-putters O’Dayne Richards, Daniel Thomas and hammer thrower Daina Levy, are expected to fly the Jamaican flag high.
