Kayla Tiangco-Williams was named MVP in the Venus tournament on Sunday March 22nd. UWI Mona female club team won the tournament after beating Viqueens in the semi-finals with a score of 2-0 before moving on to defeat International Jammers 3-0.
Their fellow Pelicans finished second overall in the male category of the tournament when they defeated Venus 2-1.
Kayla, who hopes to play on the national volleyball team, was quoted on Jamaica Olympics Facebook page saying “Never, ever stop dreaming and don't ever say something is impossible!.. When you have God's Favor, you can keep your odds! My daily devotional today was simply titled, "Watch God Work" Train hard, have faith, believe in yourself and yes..watch God work! This is just the beginning!!"
