Microfacies analysis of the Chapelton Formation, central Jamaica

I am presently a Post graduate student pursuing a Master of Philosophy degree in Sedimentology, under the supervision of Dr. Simon Mitchell. To be more specific, I am using Microfacies analysis to quantify the carbonate sedimentary fabrics and textures of the Eocene Limestones within the Central Inlier.

Presently, I am concentrating on the youngest succession of the Group, The Chapleton Formation, which is exposed extensively throughout the Central Inlier.

The Chapelton Formation is valuable to this research as it represents a transition of facies from tidal shelves sandstones and mudstones of the Guys Hill Formation to large peritidal carbonates of the Troy Formation (White Limestone Group).
