Introduction
The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Campus is situated on 653 acres of land nestled at the foot of the Blue Mountain Range in St. Andrew, Jamaica. The Campus draws its student population mainly from English speaking Caribbean countries, but has over the years seen an increase in the enrolment of students from various countries around the world. The members of faculty likewise reflect diverse cultural backgrounds.
This profile of the Mona Campus provides information on the distribution of students and staff at the Campus, as well as on the distribution of graduates. It was developed using student data for the current academic year taken from the Campus’ Student Information System, as at January 31, 2007, with comparative data for previous academic years taken from the University of the West Indies Official Statistics publications. Staff data were drawn from the Campus’ PeopleSoft System as at March 31, 2007.
