Research

One of the objectives of our department is to better under the role of Radiology in impacting patient care and to do so in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.

To accomplish this there has been a growing emphasis placed on research especially in the last five (5) years.  We encourage our faculty’s residents to participate in research.  Several of our faculties have produced papers which are critically reviewed and published in the West Indian Medical Journal as well as other respected medical publications.  Since 2007 a research project has become a requirement of our residency programme.

There has been increasing inter-disciplinary collaboration with teams from neurology, neurosurgery, general surgery, emergency medicine and urology in an effort to facilitate joint research.

With a small staff size and limited resources there are many hurdles to overcome, however our goal remains to bring Radiology to the cutting edge of research in our hemisphere.
