Meeting to discuss opportunities to teach in France
Every year, Jamaicans and Bahamians have the opportunity to go to France to teach English for a 7 months period, via the “Poste d’assistants Program” from the International Centre for Pedagogic Studies (CIEP).
This year, the program is also open to students from the University of the West Indies from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

UWI Smoker 2013- 2 Intents: Sometimes You Have to Lose to Win
The UWI Mona Medical and Dental Class of 2016 presents 2 Intents: Sometimes You Have to Lose to Win. The production, which runs from September 19-22, follows the life of a young couple being threatened by issues in their past and dealing with consequences of decisions affecting their future.

Teach for Jamaica - Student Feedback requested
Students are invited to attend to give feedback on a proposed exchange project called Teach For Jamaica.The School of Education invites students to share their thoughts on how gaps to quality education for all can be narrowed. Join the discussion on the possibilities of roles for students in closing these gaps while provding quality education for all.

Matriculation Ceremony 2013
A Matriculation Ceremony is the occasion on which new students are formally recognized as members of a university. Their acceptance into the academic community is marked by the signing of the Matriculation Register.
All first year students are required to sign the Matriculation Register at the Undercroft, commencing 2:30pm.
Student Attire: White Shirt/Blouse and Black Pants/Skirt

Homecoming Celebrations-Caribbean Day
The UWI Mona’s Homecoming & Commemoration Celebrations provide an opportunity to celebrate the founding of the University, to acknowledge its unique position as the only higher education institution with a presence throughout the English speaking Caribbean, while assisting to engender a greater sense of belonging and develop a feeling of camaraderie among staff, students and alumni.
Friday, February 15 is Caribbean Day. Highlighting the day’s events will be booths and displays depicting life in the Caribbean countries which contribute to the University. Visitors will also have the opportunity to taste food from the different countries and experience different aspects of Caribbean culture during the lunch hour concert.

Social Media Seminar
Final year students from Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC) at The UWI, Mona will on Thursday, November 29 stage ‘CLICK: Sign in to Cash in’, a social media seminar aimed at exposing students to entrepreneurial opportunities in the virtual world.
The seminar, organised by the Public Relations Class 2013, will be held inside the CARIMAC Annex Lecture Room, The UWI, Mona from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The execution seminar is part of the students’ final assessment grade which provides the students with an opportunity to put into practice the theoretic lessons learnt.
