The University of the West Indies, Mona notes the sale of certificates purporting to be undergraduate and post graduate degrees conferred by The University of the West Indies.

The University is currently investigating the matter as we view this as highly concerning and condemn the actions of those involved in this activity.

In the meantime, we wish to advise employers, educational institutions and all others concerned to be vigilant and on the alert for these non-genuine documents.

Dr Parris Lyew-Ayee Jr., Director of Mona GeoInformatix Ltd at The University of the West Indies, Mona, has been appointed serve as chair of the Ministry of Science, Energy and Technology’s agencies: the Scientific Research Council and the International Centre for Environmental and Nuclear Sciences.

A University of the West Indies team of scientists and international collaborators have conducted an interdisciplinary study that found that there are potentially beneficial medicinal properties in a favorite Caribbean fruit - guinep. The study was published in the highly respected Nature Research Journal Scientific Reports.

The Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Novamed Inc., a company that drives healthcare venture and innovation, founded by Dr. David Walcott, a Rhodes Scholar and First Class Honors Degree graduate of the MBBS Class of 2010.
