The Institute of Caribbean Studies

The institute offers a variety of courses all aimed at deepening the understanding of our Caribbean culture.

Our Aims:

  1. To develop and promote research on Caribbean History, Language, Literature and Culture in general, including interdisciplinary and comparative research, at undergraduate, graduate and staff levels.
  2. To disseminate this body of knowledge via seminars, symposia, conferences, lectures and publications in Caribbean Studies.
  3. To develop a documentation centre for bibliographic documentation and other material bases for facilitating informaton and research.
  4. To develop links with other centres for Caribbean research within and outside the region.
  5. To provide short courses and short programs on Caribbean culture.
