GENCAT is an integrated application including all the functions for archival description, accessioning/de-accessioning, controlling vocabulary, custodial management, research requests, tracking, and other workflow management. This software is currently being used at U.W.I. Mona for Archives and Records Management.
GENCAT software can easily be configured for any size or type of institution. GENCAT complies with international standards such as ISAD(G), RAD, EAD, DACS and ISAAR. The software supports hierarchical structures and multi-dimensional linking of data elements. Researchers can easily navigate through the database to find what they need.

The architecture of the software permits many branches or institutions to share one system, giving local autonomy over some functions but centralized control over others. This will help you share expenses and provide better service.

GENCAT may be integrated with other campus systems for easier collaboration and streamlined workflow.
