Caribbean Journal of Earth Science

Published by the Geological Society of Jamaica

The Caribbean Journal of Earth Science (CJES) is now available online. The Journal provides an ideal forum for the dissemination of all research results on the Earth Sciences. On line publication provides certain advantages over paper publication: author’s work appears quickly once it is accepted with no need to wait for a complete issue; authors work is easily accessible on the internet for free leading to greater citations; colour illustration is available at no extra cost.

Submission of manuscripts

Authors should follow the Guide for Authors which was published in Volume 40, together with recent papers published by the Journal.

Submissions should include a cover letter, stating that the research is unique and not under consideration for publication elsewhere, should briefly explain the importance of their work, and should provided a list of three potential reviewers together with contact information.

Manuscripts should be double-spaced throughout and follow the information in the Guidelines for Authors. Please select continuous line numbers under the page layout in word as an aid to reviewing. Papers may be submitted as MSWord or pdf files for reviewing, but a final MSword file will be required for type setting. For submission, large manuscripts may need to be split into ‘part 1’, ‘part 2’, etc.

There are no plates; photographic illustrations should therefore be treated as figured. Figures may be inserted in the text of the paper or at the end of the paper. Figures should be saved at sufficiently high resolution (tiff or jpg format) and then embedded within the text. It may be necessary to obtain the original files for type-setting.

The covering letter and manuscript should be emailed to the Editor at (please remove the spaces)
