Book Launch: ":“Up For Air! This Half Has Never Been Told!”

On Wednesday, November 26, 2014, 6-8:30 p.m., at the Undercroft, University of the West Indies, Mona, Dr. Imani Tafari-Ama, Lecturer, Development Consultant, Author and Talk Show Host on Fresh Start, aired 6-9 a.m. on Newstalk93FM at UWI Mona, will launch “Up For Air! This Half Has Never Been Told!”  a historical award-winning novel based on the  May 2010 Tivoli Gardens incursion and its aftermathh.  Keynote speaker at the event will be Dr. Leahcim Semaj, Psychologist and significant presenters will include L’Acadco Dancers and event sponsors. Dr. Tafari-Ama’s presentation will include the screening of the movie trailer excerpted from the novel, since she expects to produce a feature length film based on the book.

The publication which was sponsored by the Freidrich Ebert Stiftung, Jamaica & the Eastern Caribbean, represents the work of former BSc students who were registered in the IGDS’s course: Gender, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management (GEND3032), in the 2011/12 academic year.
