The University of the West Indies Press, in collaboration with the National Commission on Reparations, the Ministry of Youth and Culture and the Institute for Gender and Development Studies invites you to  the launch of Britain's Black Debt: Reparations for Caribbean Slavery and Native Genoicide authored by UWI Cavehill Principal, Professor Hilary Beckles. The official programme will include an address by Dr the Hon. The University of the West Indies Press and Lexington Books will launch two recent books on slavery in the Caribbean. They are: Aboliton and Plantation Management in Jamaica (1807 - 1838) and  Agency of the Enslaved - Jamaica and the culture of freedom in the Atlantic world. 
Guest speakers are Patrick Bryan, Professor Emritus, UWI; Douglas Hall, Professor of History, UWI; Verene Shepherd, Professor of Social History and UWI Director, Institute for Gender and Development Studies.
