Homecoming Celebrations-Caribbean Day
The UWI Mona’s Homecoming & Commemoration Celebrations provide an opportunity to celebrate the founding of the University, to acknowledge its unique position as the only higher education institution with a presence throughout the English speaking Caribbean, while assisting to engender a greater sense of belonging and develop a feeling of camaraderie among staff, students and alumni.
Friday, February 15 is Caribbean Day. Highlighting the day’s events will be booths and displays depicting life in the Caribbean countries which contribute to the University. Visitors will also have the opportunity to taste food from the different countries and experience different aspects of Caribbean culture during the lunch hour concert.
CAPE Workshops 2013
The Department of Physics at The UWI, Mona will host the Mona leg of its annual CAPE Physics Workshop on January 7-11, 2013 at the Mona Campus. The daily Workshops are designed to address specific topics covered on the CAPE Physics syllabi namely: Oscillation and Waves (Unit 1) and Operational Amplifiers (Unit 2). Approximately 1000 students are expected to be exposed to the theoretical underpinnings of Physics through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, simulations and experimentation during the Workshops conducted by a team of UWI faculty, postgraduate and undergraduate students. Each session starts at 9 am daily.

UWI, Mona -WJC Week: Open House 2 and Seminars
The UWI, Mona-Western Jamaica Campus has organized an Open House for 6th formers and guidance counsellors on Thursday, November 29 starting at 9 am. There will be a special Guidance Counsellors' Seminar at 9 am to provide information on the range of programmes offered at UWI, Mona and career specific information regarding the programme offerings.
A special lecture entitled, "How Politics Keeps Us Poor: On the Political Economy of Underdevelopment" is set for November 28, 2012 at 11 am. Dr. Damien King, Head, Department of Economics, UWI, Mona will deliver the lecture.
UWI, Mona -WJC Week: Open House 1 and Math and Science Clinics
The UWI, Mona-Western Jamaica Campus Open House on Wednesday, November 28 is designed for 5th form students, their parents and teachers. There will be a display of the range of programme offerings at the UWI, Mona-Western Jamaica Campus and counsellors on hand to give advice. Additionally Mathematics and Science Clinics will be held for students.

ICT Policy Launch and Book Launch
The Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) and the Caribbean Institute for Media and Communications will host the co-launch the Mona ICT Policy Centre and the book, “Ringtones of Opportunities: Policy, Technology and Access in Caribbean Communications”. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 6 pm at the Undercroft.
The Mona Information Communication Technologies (ICT) Centre which will be housed at the Mona School of Business and Management has grown out of the Telecommunications Policy Management Programme (TPM) and is designed to provide consultation, research, training and education, and outreach to primarily the telecommunication and information communication industries.
UWI, Mona Graduate Open House 2012
