They started their business while students at UWI Mona. Now they have decided to take their enterprise to the next level as guests on the Innovators TV show. Oshane McKnight and Shakarah McCrae Levy talk about their amazing experience on the Innovators, and the tremendous outpouring of support. At Parent/Spouse/ Family Orientation, family members are familiarized with the social, physical, emotional and intellectual changes that students undergo on entering the University. Parents/spouse/family members have the opportunity to meet with Student Services and Development Managers, Deans and other members of the University Administration, Student Leaders and the University Counsellors, in order to engage in meaningful discussions.

Launch of the Biodiesel Production Initiative

The Youth Crime Watch of Jamaica, in collaboration with the Departments of Chemistry and Physics of the University of the West Indies, Mona, will launch the Biodiesel Production Initiative (which is funded by the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme). The Project seeks to engage individuals from at-risk community and schools in energy diversification, transportation, education and climate change mitigation.The 18-month pilot project seeks to sensitise and engage students and community members from marginalised community to understand the environmental degradation, health and pollution risks which accompany the improper disposal of waste material, such as waste vegetable oil, may have caused.
