ISSUES:

How should the roles and functions of Ministries of Labour be transformed to address the imperatives of the new economy ?
Should Ministries of Labour give greater focus to job creation and employment ?
What are the future roles of the ministries of labour in the integration of labour policies with the policies of other government departments and ministries such as foreign affairs and foreign trade, education,
finance, tourism and immigration? How can Ministries of Labour influence productivity for
competitiveness in the new Caribbean Economy? What new skills will Ministries of Labour need for the future? The consideration of these issues is expected to produce a working document for policy options and guidelines for future roles of Ministries of Labour in the Caribbean region.
