Patricia Mohammed, former Head of the Mona Unit of the CGDS,
is Senior Lecturer at the CGDS, UWI, St. Augustine Campus. She
has been involved in both feminist activism and scholarship
for over two decades. Her academic publications include Gender
Negotiations among Indians in Trinidad, 1917 – 1947 (2001)
and the edited collection Gendered Realities (2002). She was
also Guest Editor of Rethinking Caribbean Difference, a Special
Issue of Feminist Review (Routledge Journals Summer 1998), co-author
with Althea Perkins of Caribbean Women at the Crossroads (1998)
and co-editor with Catherine Shepherd of Gender in Caribbean
Development (1988). She has published numerous essays in journals
and books, magazines and newspapers. She recently completed
a two-year Mona Campus Research fellowship with a manuscript
entitled Imaging the Caribbean, which is to be published in
book format as well as documentary film.
