William Hinds is the Chief Energy Conservation Officer in the Ministry of Finance, Investment, Telecommunications and Energy. This unit is responsible for the Government’s renewable energy and energy efficiency policies and programmes.

He has an MSc in alternative energy since 1986.

Mr. Hinds has been involved in renewable energy for over 25 years having worked for several regional intstituions as a consultant, project manager etc. He has worked on or collaborated with or assessed almost every major renewable energy project in Barbados and the region.

Mr. Hinds is an innovator who leads Barbados in the development of solar electric vehicles.
