Graduate students in physics acively engage in research within the department of physics sometimes in collaboration with other departments and faculties. Many collaborations come from the Departments of Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology and the Faculty of Medicine. Students pursuing a research degree are lead by supervisors who are very active in their area of research and who are highly proficient in their fields of interest.
Graduate students may also pursue MSc degrees in various fields such as Medical Physics, Renewable Energy and Electronics. This will see students completing advanced courses in their area of interest along with hands on activities to further the udnerstanding in the particular area. Students will also participate in research activites near to the end of the program. Often times after completing an MSc degree students move on to a research degree.
