Sharing Effective Practices from Camp Summer Plus
As part of the Jamaica Partners for Educational Progress’ objective to improve basic education strategies, programs and interventions, it will showcase the practices of the inaugural Camp Summer Plus in our first face to face event for this year. The presentations, which will be based on the documentation of the practices and outcomes of this initiative, is especially promising in light of its application to students from low performing schools, and its focus on reducing the summer learning loss.Early in the next school year, approximately 30 teachers will benefit from presentations of effective practices from those involved in the camp. They will have the opportunity to learn from and engage camp staff about good classroom practices that will foster students’ academic achievement. For those who cannot attend, there will be an EduExchange where the membership will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the outcomes of this new program. The Facilitation Team will also post documentation of the live event to our website, so members can access it on demand. We will keep members informed as more information about both events is available.
