This power point presents the research findings of Dr. Munroe's dissertation, which examined parental involvement in Jamaica. The objectives were to:

• To identify the factors that motivate parents to become involved in the education of their children
• To explore the likelihood of positive involvement
• To look at whether the Jamaican context promotes or hinders involvement

Results that are highlighted include: parents' motivation, invitation for involvement and life circumstances.
