Homecoming 2020: Caribbean Day
Friday, February 14 is Caribbean Day. Highlighting the day’s events will be booths and displays depicting life in the Caribbean countries which contribute to the University. Visitors will also have the opportunity to taste food from the different countries and experience different aspects of Caribbean culture during the lunch hour concert.
Come out and experience the various different cultures here on campus. Take your flag and represent in your colours on Caribbean Day.

The UWI Mona Homecoming Celebrations begins Sunday, February 9, with the annual Commemoration Service at the UWI Mona Chapel.
The service begins at 9:15 A.M. and is dubbed, "Hats off to The UWI".

The Homecoming Parade?
The observation of Mona Homecoming Celebrations (formerly, Commemoration Celebrations and Alumni Week) began in 2001 and provides an opportunity to celebrate the founding of the University and recognize its regional nature, while assisting to engender a greater sense of belonging and develop a feeling of camaraderie among staff, students and graduates.
The highlight of the week of celebrations is the Homecoming Parade, a grand spectacle featuring a colourful parade of Halls of Residencies, Country Associations, Clubs and Societies, Staff, Alumni and UWI Community Members.
The UWI Mona Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Thursday, February 13 staring starting at the UWI Students Union.

UWI/UNESCO World Philosophy Day
UNESCO to celebrate World Philosophy Day will be celebrated at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus this year under the theme, “Social Transformation through Youth Engagement.”
World Philosophy Day is celebrated on the third Thursday of November each year in recognition of the enduring value of philosophy to individual and social development. The purpose of World Philosophy Day is to highlight the importance of this discipline, especially for young people.
