'Geology 50' Time Capsule
The Department of Geology as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations, will be burying a time capsule during Research Day, on February 7, 2013.
The 275 lb cast aluminum time capsule, custom-built and laser-inscribed in Kansas by Noranda, is scheduled to be reopened on the Department's centennial in 2062.

Homecoming Celebrations - Parade and Flag Raising Ceremony
On Thursday, February 14, 2013 beginning at 2.30 p.m. will be the University Parade of students, staff and alumni starting from the Students’ Union, continuing around the Ring Road and ending at the Assembly Hall. Judging of parade groups and the Flag Raising Ceremony will follow.
Come out and celebrate! Represent your club, represent your country, represent UWI Mona!

Annual Valedictory Service
“The annual Valedictory Service for final year students of the Mona Campus will be held in the University Chapel on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. The service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Lester Shields and Dr. Rev. Stevenson Samuels will deliver the sermon. This is an opportunity for all students to ask for God’s blessings before their examinations begin and to say farewell to those who will be graduating”.

Faculty of Social Sciences Awards Ceremony 2013
The Faculty of Social Sciences will host its annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 17, 2012 at 5:30pm the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre (SSLT), UWI, Mona. The occasion will recognize outstanding academic performance for the 2011-12 academic year.

Homecoming Celebrations - Commemoration Service
The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus will host its annual Homecoming & Commemoration Celebrations over the period February 10-15, 2013.
The 2013 Homecoming Celebrations begin with the Commemoration Service at the University Chapel on Sunday, February 10, starting at 9:15am.
Mona’s Homecoming & Commemoration Celebrations provide an opportunity to celebrate the founding of the University, to acknowledge its unique position as the only higher education institution with a presence throughout the English speaking Caribbean, while assisting to engender a greater sense of belonging and develop a feeling of camaraderie among staff, students and alumni.

Long Service Award Ceremony 2012
The University of the West Indies, Mona will award over 140 employees for their dedicated service to the University during its Long Service Ceremony. Employees who have served for fifteen, twenty-one, thirty and forty years will be recognized on this occasion. The Ceremony takes place on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 5 pm at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre.
This event is by INVITATION ONLY.

Caribbean Child Research Conference 2012 (New Date)
The Sir Arthur Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES), The UWI, Mona, in collaboration with UNICEF and several partners will stage the annual Caribbean Child Research Conference (now to be held on) November 6-7, 2012 at the Jamaica Conference Centre. The theme is Political Independence and Child Rights.
