Faculty of Humanities and Education Awards Ceremony
The Annual Students Award Ceremony of The Faculty of Humanities and Education will be held on Thursday November 10, at 2:00 P.M. in the Neville Hall Lecture Theatre (N1). The Ceremony will recognize students who have demonstrated excellence in their various fields of learning.
The guest speaker on this occasion will be Mrs. Marjorie Hyatt, Administrative Manager, Jamaica Cooperatives Credit Union.

UWI, Mona Hosts Prayer and Thanksgiving Service to Commemorate the First Anniversary of the Haitian Earthquake
The UWI Mona Haiti’s Initiative and the Haitian Students Association host an Hour of Prayer and Thanksgiving to commemorate the first anniversary of the January 12 earthquake. The service takes place at the UWI Mona Chapel on the anniversary of the Haitian earthquake, Wednesday January 12, 2011 at 4 pm. A moment of silence will be observed at 4:53, the exact time the 7.3 earthquake struck Haiti. The service will be followed by a “Candle Light Vigil” at the Residence of Haiti’s Chargé d’Affaires.
The UWI Mona is helping Haiti to rebuild its human capital by offering full scholarships to Haitian students and training to staff from Haiti’s National Library.
