The Biotechnology Centre presents the Seminar Series “The Transformation:From an idea to the shelf". The presentation will be made by Professor Harvey Reid, (Ph D, Univeristy of London).
 
Prof. Reid has taught at the University of Nigeria, Nnsukka, and at the University of Benin, West Africa. He joined the FMS, UWI in 1988 as Senior Lecturer and was appointed as Professor of Clinical Haemorheology in 1999. He is the former Head of Basic Medical Sciences and Deputy Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences. Now retired, he continues to lecture in Physiology.

The Faculty of Law will be hosting a public lecture by Dr Ramona Biholar entitled 'Addressing discriminatory gender stereotyping endorsed by the law. The review of the Jamaica Sexual Offences Act 2009', on Tuesday September 23, 2014 at 6:00 pm in the Faculty of Law building at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. This lecture  will be used to officially launch Dr Biholar’s book entitled: “Transforming Discriminatory Sex Roles and Gender Stereotyping: The implementation of Article 5 (a) CEDAW for the realisation of women’s right to be free from gender-based violence in Jamaica.”
