IGDS 8th Biennial Lucille Mathurin Mair Public Lecture
The IGDS will be hosting the 8th Biennial Lucille Mathurin Mair Public Lecture on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 6 pm.The Lecture will be delivered by Her Excellency Mme,Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission. Her Lecture entitled: 'The African Year of Women and 20 Years after Beijing'. She will reflect on the progress made by women since the 1995 Beijing Platform of Action and challenges to promote gender equality around the world.

Storm Saulter - "Towards a New Caribbean Cinema"
Filmmaker-in-Residence at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, Mr. Storm Saulter, will participate in the “March is Movie Month at Mona” series on Friday, March 20. Mr. Saulter will speak on the topic “Towards a New Caribbean Cinema” in the Neville Hall Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Education and Humanities at 6:00p.m. His talk will be supported by partial screenings of his work.

Chronixx gives Reggae Talk
On Thursday, March 19 at 7:15 p.m., Reggae artiste Chronixx will present a talk on his career. The event is part of a series of “Reggae Talks”, hosted by the Department of Literatures in English.
In March each year, the Department showcases its offerings in film, popular music and literature. The public is invited to attend the talks which take place in the Neville Hall Lecture Theatre (N1) in the Faculty of Humanities and Education. Admission is free
