The Chief Scientific Officer performs varying duties at the lab. These include facilitating and coordinating various research projects of UWI and visiting scientists, data collection for the lab's monitoring projects and coordination of Educational and Outreach activities. In addition, the CSO functions as Assistant Safety Manager and Chamber Operator for the Hyperbaric Chamber, and as the lead investigator for the Jamaican Coastal Restoration projects (Coastal Nursery Project and Critical Coastal Areas Restoration Project).
