What it was About

This Convocation was a gathering of over 1,000 representatives of churches from several countries from as far as Fiji, Germany, the Middle East and Australia.  The theme of the convocation was to spread the message of peace and to aid in the interaction of the different cultures of churches from which the WCC comprises.

Estate Management Department Input

The UWI Estate Management Department (EMD) was responsible for the setting up and coordination of all the physical facilities used for general gatherings associated with the conference.  This included the ‘Tent’,  Assembly Hall, Old Library, outdoor kiosks  as well as areas within faculties.   Significant coordination was required to facilitate the holding of the various activities - averaging ten activities per day.

EMD team members worked relentlessly to ensure that all venues were fully equipped and that the required services were available.  These services ranged from portable bathrooms, ramps, fans, tables and chairs to plants and drinking water at different locations.

The event was deemed a success and the input of the EMD was specifically recognized in the de-briefing reports of Nan Braunschweiger and Jean-Nicholas Bazin of WCC's Administrative and Technical team.
