Examinations Section – Overview
Welcome to the Examinations Section of The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. The Section operates within the Office of the Campus Registrar and is responsible for the administration and coordination of examinations, the processing of academic transcripts and the organization of the University’s annual Graduation Ceremonies.
Conduct of Examinations
The Examinations Section administers all final examinations at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, the Section facilitates in-course examinations that are scheduled during the two-week mid-semester examination period.
Final examinations are conducted during three daily sessions at the end of each semester. Mid-semester examinations are held throughout the day during the designated two-week period. Summer School examinations are typically conducted over a two-week period at the end of July.
All undergraduate examinations are governed by the Examinations Regulations for First Degrees, Associate Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates. These regulations outline the rules and procedures related to examinations and must be strictly adhered to by all students.

Conduct of Examinations
All final examinations at the undergraduate and graduate level are administered by the section. We are also responsible for facilitating in-course examinations that fall within the two weeks of mid-semester.
Examinations are held for three sessions daily, at the end of each semester, and throughout the day for mid-semesters. Additionally, Summer School examinations are held for two weeks at the end of July.
The Examinations Calendar is prepared and posted at the start of the academic year. The calendar gives a schedule of examinations related activities and should be used as a reference by both staff and students.
