FST Staff Gears Up for 2025/2026 with “Ready, Set, Go!” Workshops

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), The University of the West Indies (The UWI), Mona, hosted the second staging of its “Ready, Set, Go!” Staff Preparation Workshops from August 18–20, 2025, bringing together academic, administrative, service and technical staff to prepare for the new academic year.

The three-day event featured interactive sessions on wellness, digital transformation, research and innovation, and teaching best practices. Highlights included presentations by Professor Michael Taylor (Dean, FST), Mrs. Shelley-Ann Gayle Morris (Bursary), Dr. Debbie-Ann Chambers (FST Wellness), Dr. Mervin Chisholm (CETL), Dr. Tomlin Paul (Deputy Principal, Student Success), Professor Marvin Reid (Deputy Principal, Research and Innovation), and Professor Gunjan Mansingh (Department of Computing).

The programme also included an engaging New Staff Orientation led by Professor Tannecia Stephenson (Deputy Dean, FST) and Mrs. Rosalene Simmonds (Administrative Officer, FST), welcoming new team members to the Faculty.

Through sessions on AI integration, lab standardization, staff wellness, and student success, the workshops reaffirmed FST’s commitment to empowering its staff and achieving its vision of becoming “The Go-To Place for Science Education, Training, Research and Solutions.”
