Staff members from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) recently completed a Psychological First Aid (PFA) training course aimed at strengthening the faculty’s capacity to respond to stressful or crisis situations with empathy, confidence, and appropriate support.
PFA equips individuals with the skills to recognize signs of emotional distress, provide immediate support, and guide affected persons toward professional help when needed. This training is especially important in environments, where staff often serve as the first point of contact for students, colleagues, and visitors experiencing anxiety, trauma, or sudden distress.
By completing this certification, FST staff are now better prepared to foster a safer, more supportive campus community, promoting resilience, wellbeing, and timely intervention when challenges arise.
