On March 10, 2025, members of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), The University of the Wets Indies, Mona had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Richard Myhill, Director of the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF), for a productive discussion on potential collaborative initiatives aimed at undergraduate students within the Faculty. In attendance was also Kathryn Stewart, Vice Principal (Acting) and Master Teacher, Biology from the Campion College.
The LIYSF is a renowned 15-day STEM camp, open to students aged 16 to 21 from around the world. Held annually at Imperial College London, the forum typically hosts around 500 young scientists from diverse backgrounds, offering them a unique opportunity to engage in a wide range of scientific activities, workshops, and lectures.
The discussions during this visit focused on fostering engagement between FST students and LIYSF, exploring opportunities for participation, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives in the STEM field. The collaboration between FST and LIYSF represents an exciting opportunity to provide our students with additional exposure to global scientific communities.
The FST looks forward to the potential partnerships and initiatives that will emerge from this collaboration.
