INTRODUCTION TO HUMAN GEOGRAPHY

Pre-requisite: Geography at GCE 'O' Level or CXC or its equivalent.

 
 

Syllabus

  • Population growth, distribution and movements.
  • Population and resources
  • . World food supply.
  • Agricultural activity systems.
  • Industrial location,
    power resources, transportation systems.
  • Economic growth in developing
    areas.

Methods of geographical investigation (laboratory course of 36 hours).
Methods and problems of compilation, design and execution of various types of
maps and diagrams.
Introduction to quantitative analysis in geography.

 

 
 

Evaluation

One 3-hour written paper 75%
Practical work and tutorials (graded weekly) 25%
