Syllabus

  • Petrogenesis
  • tectonomagmatic setting of igneous rocks
  • classification of volcanic and plutonic rocks.
  • Basis of metamorphic petrology;
  • chemical equilibria
  • progressive metamorphism
  • metamorphic facies and facies series
  • metamorphic textures;
  • metamorphism of sedimentary and igneous rocks
  • metamorphic rocks of the Caribbean.

Laboratory course of 36 hours.

 
 

Evaluation

One 2-hour written paper 50%
One 2-hour practical 50%
