THE PHARMACY

 

The pharmacy is a highly utilized section of the University Health Centre. It offers a wide range of prescribed and Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, including brand name and generic drugs. The pharmacy fills prescriptions written by medical doctors employed at the UHC as well as doctors who practice elsewhere.

Advantages of Using the Health Centre Pharmacy include:

  • Low prices – Much lower than competing pharmacies
  • No credit limit – Staff obtain credit above the $4,000 applicable at other participating pharmacies. Payment can be made through salary deduction.
  • Each student has an annual prescription allocation of $6,000. Up to this amount students do not pay. A payment of 20% of cost is required after this limit is exceeded and the deductible of $2,000 is satisfied.
  • Availability of drugs that are prescribed by most doctors for all common conditions.
  • Convenient opening hours, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Mon. – Fri.; 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Saturday. (Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. during semester break.)
  • The facility to leave your prescription and collect your drug later saves you time.
  • Swipe card and electronic billing facilitates fast and efficient processing.
