Exhibition 'Freeze, Frame and Annotate' - Images from a 1953 film on UWI
FOR TWO WEEKS, the UWI Museum will stage an exhibition that sets out to learn about the people and places on the UWI (formerly known as UCWI), as highlighted in a 1953 film produced by the Jamaica Film Unit — perhaps the earliest colour film produced in the West Indies. Help the UWI Museum dentify the people, places and events.

Spanish Trinidad, Sharing a Past, Building a Future: Exhibition,Lecture & Book Launch
This Lecture, Book Launch & Exhibition will feature:
1. The book launch of SPANISH TRINIDAD, Sharing a Past, Building a Future, featuring Guest Speaker Armando García de la Torre, Ph.D., of The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, Editor & Translator;
2. An exhibition of historic manuscripts and maps associated to the period 1498 to 1797
The exhibition opens on the following days:
- Monday – Thursday 10a.m. to 6pm.
- Saturday & Sunday 1pm to 5pm

International Gandhi Day
The Faculty of Humanities and Education's Department of Language/Lingusitics in collaboration with The National Council for Indian Culture in Jamaica presents International Gandhi Day under the theme "Peace and Non Violence as the way to Nirvana".
Come and celebrate the Indian Culture. Enjoy live Indian music, food sampling and henna tatooing.

Opening ceremony: Rastafari Unconquerable exhibition
The Institute of Caribbean Studies in association with the National Museum of Jamaica and the Ethiopia Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council present an exhibition that will reveal the character of one of the worl'd most significant liberation movements - Rastafari. An opening eceremony takes place Sunday July 14th while the exhibition will run for one year at the Institute of Jamaica.

Norman Washington Manley exhibition
The Norman Washington Manley exhibition starts June 18 at the UWI Museum. A plaster bust of NW Manley, sculpted in 1968 by veteran sculptor Alvin Marriott, will be the centrepiece of the cameo exhibition.

Exhibition: 100th anniversary of the birth of Jamaican author Victor Stafford Reid
The 100th anniversary exhibit features posters, published works, papers and photographs from the VS Reid Collection held in the Library.

This Research Forum coordinated by the Dept of Library and Information Studies, will facilitate the presentation by MA and MLIS students of posters on their research papers. Guest Speaker is Don Anderson, Managing Director of Market Research Ltd.

Exhibition of Poster Art by Michael Thompson
For the month of March, the University of the West Indies' Museum is displaying poster art by Jamaican international poster artist, MichaelThompson. The exhibit grew out of a February mini display of posters on UWI subjects by Thompson. Nineteen additional posters were used in developing graphics for the new book, Global Reggae, edited by Professor Carolyn Cooper.
