Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) is the premier business school in the region. Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of:

 

INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER 

Reporting to the Director, Centre of Excellence & Information Systems, the successful candidate is expected to ensure the streamlined operation of the IS Department in alignment with the business objectives of MSBM. The IS Manager will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the School, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IS department. The job holder will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the School. He/she will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain agreed service levels to internal and external clients. Demonstrate a solid grasp of modern digital technologies and applications in order to actively support MSBM’s strategic digital transformation agenda.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or information systems.
  • Master’s degree in management information systems or business administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years related work experience, three of which should be in a management position.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Certifications in IT service management, IT security, and project management would be an asset.

Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Knowledge of web applications, learning management, financial management, and student management systems is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional client/customer service skills.
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate, and solve problems.
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to perform project valuation and cost-benefit analysis calculations for the purpose of creating business cases, budgets, etc.
  • Ability to present ideas in clear business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Knowledge of basic university management structure will be a distinct asset.
