Dr. Vennecia Christian Barnes is a Teaching Fellow at Mona School of Business and Management in the Finance and Accounting Unit. She lectures the Master of Business Administration cohort, the Master of Science in Corporate Finance cohort and the Master of Science in Enterprise Risk Management cohort. Dr. Christian Barnes has over twenty-seven years of experience in the financial services sector with the majority of this tenure at the senior management level. Her case-based research sits at the intersection of theory and practice and is focused on continuing to develop contextually relevant finance based teaching cases and instructor notes that provide practical insights for students in small open economies, especially within the Caribbean, and on exploring how emerging forces, such as digital currencies and AI, are reshaping the field of finance.
