This course introduces learners to evolutionary and revolutionary aspects of the nursing profession. Learners apply critical thinking to an evidence-based analysis of the influence of religious, military, socioeconomic, geopolitical, legislative, technological, scientific and organizational factors on the development of nursing.  During their analysis, learners explore the impact of interpersonal relationships on the organization of nursing locally, regionally and internationally. In addition, the course enables learners to develop an appreciation for caring as the foundation of contemporary nursing roles and responsibilities in caring for patients throughout the life cycle along the wellness-illness continuum.
