PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre

The UWI School of Nursing, Mona was redesignated in November 2020 as the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) for Nursing and Midwifery Development in the Caribbean. The period of designation spans the period November 2020 to November 2024.

The Terms of Reference are as follows:

  • Support PAHO/WHO in developing and supporting nursing and midwifery capacity building activities
  • Support PAHO/WHO to strengthen the development of a research culture and collaboration in nursing and midwifery in the Caribbean region and internationally
  • Support PAHO/WHO to collate, publish, and disseminate information to strengthen scholarship and evidence-based practice in nursing and midwifery
