This clinical elective focuses the final year student on a selected area of nursing practice to enable the student to synthesize knowledge from the previous courses, strengthen professional attitudes and interpersonal relationships, integrate evidenced- based practice with principles of caring when managing aggregate of patients at various stages of the life-cycle, along the wellness-illness continuum. Additionally, it facilitates students’ self-directedness in determining and selecting a clinical area of interest and their subsequent refinement of clinical competence in that chosen field.
